Movses Aslanyan, 4, and his sister Lilya, 3, drowned in a duck pond
Sadly, a four year old boy and his three year old sister died in a shallow pond near their home in Lake Hughes. The mother first noticed that the children were missing at 5 p.m. and notified the sheriff’s department. The sheriff’s department responded and found the children in the duck pond, which was located in a 12-acre property.
Upon investigation, officials found that the pond was shallow, and was very dangerous for young children. The sheriff’s department believes that the deaths were tragic accidents. They are still investigating the deaths. In addition, a GoFundMe page has been set up by the family. This page says that the children were best friends, and that the family had moved to the United States from Armenia.
The family lived in Lake Hughes, California, about 30 miles north of Santa Clarita. The children were born in Los Angeles, and their father worked as an Uber driver. They moved into their first home in Lake Hughes last year. They had a large backyard, which they loved. They also loved playing with their dogs.
After the bodies of the children were discovered, they were airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center. The LASD Homicide Division is investigating the death. The family is deeply saddened by the loss of their two children.

The siblings were close friends
Earlier this week two young siblings drowned in Lake Hughes, the community north of Los Angeles. A boy was pronounced dead at 9pm on Monday night, while a girl was found unresponsive around 2pm on Tuesday. A GoFundMe page has been set up for their family. The LASD is investigating the incident, and will soon be sending the bodies of the two young victims to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab.
The sibling duo was reportedly playing with their family dogs in their backyard when they vanished. Their mother became concerned and called 911. When first responders arrived, they found the two children unresponsive and began CPR. One of the deputies reportedly said shallow ponds are dangerous for small children.
The two young victims were found in a duck pond. The pond was no more than two to three feet deep. According to Lieutenant Charles Calderaro of the LASD’s Homicide Division, the pond was located in the Angeles National Forest. The pond is located approximately 60 miles north of Los Angeles. The sibling duo were residents of the community, and lived in a house on 12 acres. Their father worked as an Uber driver. Their mother taught Bible class at her local church in Milwaukee. The siblings were both loved by their community.
