If you are a fan of music then you may have heard of Kevin Gates. He is an American rapper and singer. His song By Any Means is a popular hit amongst fans.
Luca Brasi Story
The Luca Brasi Story of Kevin Gates is one of the best mixtapes of the year. It’s 22 tracks long and explores the outward stimuli that coerce people. There’s some great lyricism and hooks here, and it’s all backed by strong production.
Kevin Gates is an American rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He first came to attention in 2013 with a breakout mixtape. He has since signed a major label deal with Atlantic Records.
Unlike most rappers, Gates isn’t a copycat. His songs are a mix of familiar topics and hard-hitting beats. In fact, he’s got a knack for rapping about things that he actually experienced, such as his criminal past, a broken criminal justice system, and a broken relationship.
On the flip side, Gates’ music has also been compared to that of rappers such as Lil Boosie. However, it’s his ability to craft emotional lyricism that really sets him apart.
Throughout his career, Gates has had a tendency to release two projects a year. While his recent efforts haven’t been quite as well received, they’ve shown Gates’ capacity as a songwriter.
“Luca Brasi” is a blend of Southern street-rap and contemplative fare. It runs for almost 80 minutes. Although it doesn’t have many hits, it still makes for a compelling listen.
For fans of a more subdued take on trap music, Gates’ “The Luca Brasi Story” may be the most enticing mixtape of the year. Featuring some of the most emotionally evocative raps you’ll hear this year, Gates’ new mixtape is an artistic statement that you’ll be sure to appreciate.
Islah
If you’re a fan of rap, you’re probably already familiar with Kevin Gates. As a rapper and entrepreneur, Gates has been around for a few years. He’s released five singles and has a major label contract with Atlantic Records. However, this is his first full-length album. Thankfully, it’s a solid one.
Islah is Kevin Gates’ first studio effort. It’s a collection of eight songs that span the spectrum from acoustic-led highlights to gimmicky gunshot filled hardcore gangsta rap.
The album was pushed back from its original release date of December 11 to January 29, because of sample clearances and promotional activity. Even so, the record is an excellent entry in Gates’ otherwise uneventful career. His best songs, like “2 Phones” and “Time for That”, exemplify the best of what he does.
There’s not much here that’s particularly new, but there’s enough to scratch that rap itch. Gates is a proud songwriter and there are no filler bars here. Moreover, the songs are not overly cheesy.
While it’s not the first ape in the tree, it’s the first snazzy-looking smartphone that does something really cool. Gates has an uncanny knack for taping into a well-defined emotional or visual sensation. This is most apparent in his oh so catchy “Time for That” chorus.
In fact, it’s the best acoustic song of its kind in recent memory.
By Any Means 2
By Any Means 2 is the latest mixtape to be released by Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates. This release reflects Gates’ passion and dedication. It’s also a testament to his unbreakable spirit.
It’s no secret that Gates is currently serving a 30 month sentence for felony gun possession. However, he was recently granted a new sentence that was a bit less than the one he was given for the crime. Luckily for him, his new incarceration hasn’t taken him out of the game. That’s good news for Gates’ fans, who are still able to access his music.
Despite the fact that he’s been locked up for nearly a year, Gates managed to release four songs while he was in jail: “What If”, “No Love”, “Had To” and “Beautiful Scars”. These songs show that even in a pinch Gates still has the gift of the gab. He’s also managed to make his mark on the music industry in other ways. His song, “The One” was played on the Today Show in March, which is the first time a rapper has ever done so on national television.
As far as the album goes, it’s not as much of a feat of engineering as it is an effort to remind the music world of Gates. The title track has some solid trap production, while the singles, “Beautiful Scars” and “Had To”, are more lyrical street tales.
